We’ve stayed before and it is every bit as lovely as we remembered. Set in beautiful countryside, so much to see and the wonderful hot tub perfect for star gazing.

My friend and I had an amazing time. The Van is quirky and gorgeous and the scenery was just stunning. Hot tub was an added bonus and we loved every minute Thank you!

Lovely, quirky place in a beautiful location. It was lovely to receive a welcome basket of goodies too on arrival. Thoughtful touch. Hot tub is a great bonus as was lovely to relax in it after a day of walking on the local walking routes. Would definitely recommend for a few nights away!

The Guards Van is a fantastic find. It's got everything you need and a hot tub as a bonus. The branded robes and cups are a lovely touch and the welcome basket was great. It's in a great location and easy to find. Really good communication from Fiona right from booking. It's on our list of places to go back too ?

A very quirky place to stay, with great use of the space available. The hosts were both very friendly and provided plenty of information about the history of the place and what was available in the local area, both verbally and in a very comprehensive visitors guide. The hot tub was very good, even in the rain! Would definitely recommend it the Guards Can if you are looking for a few days staying somewhere different and the Northumberland area has so much to offer.

This is an idyllic location right in the heart of all the things to go and see and do. The accommodation was lovely and didn't want for anything. Wouldn't hesitate to return as its just perfect.

it's a very nice and cute Guards van it has plenty of privacy and is rather unique, it was enough for us and it felt cozy and homely and the hosts were super friendly and helpful, was able to give great advice on places to go and see and things to do. was able to help make it a very speical week break for us, only downside for us was thst we didnt book it for longer could spend weeks here and still havs tons to do. will definitely come back again

An amazing location, literally places to go and something to do within 5 miles in any direction, gorgeous surroundings and scenery! The Guards Van itself has everything you will need, lovely and cozy inside, incredibly comfortable bed, and then the headline act of the hot tub which is perfect on a summer night!! Andrew and Emily were incredible hosts, both giving us a warm welcome on arrival and Andrew gave us a thorough tour so we knew how everything worked but also gave us a back story on the property which was brilliant and made us feel really connected to the history of the stay. Would love to go back was literally a faultless stay!

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the Guards Van. Lots to do around the area as everything is a short drive. We also enjoyed a day lounging in the hot tub and having a BBQ! We had a fantastic stay and look forward to staying again. Big shout out to the hosts as they were awesome with being responsive and attending to anything else we might need! Rob & Heather.

Just returned from a great few days spent at the Guards Van. Everything as described. A great, peaceful location for exploring nearby tourist attractions. After a day of walking it's nice to relax in the hot tub on an evening. Friendly welcoming host. Would recommend.

A short weekend break for my wife and me. The Guards Van is exactly as described and the communication from the hosts is excellent, with all questions answered with a super fast response. Very friendly greeting when we arrived with plenty of useful information from the hosts as well as the welcome pack in the van itself, along with a lovely welcoming hamper. We would recommend this 100%.

This is a wonderful place to stay when you have lots to do and places to go. It is a great place for somewhere to come back to after a great day out, relaxing and comfortable in its bijou accommodation.

Great location for exploring North Northumberland + Coast and SE Scotland. Supermarket + places to eat and take-aways are 5-10 minutes drive away. Unusual and well appointed accommodation is located in an old station yard that is now a garden. The hot tub is a dream after a hard day. Highly reccomended.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay at the guards in! The host Andrew was super informative about the guards in and grounds and we really enjoyed hearing and learning about its history. It was a lovely touch on arrival. Welcome gift package was also a nice touch! Communication from booking to arrival with host Fiona was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a short stay and hopefully we will return next time we visit the area. Perfect quiet spot if you’re visiting Northumberland on average 28/35 min to some beautiful beaches and castles. Thank you for having us. We had a lovely stay.

Quirky accommodation in a fantastic part of Northumberland

Our stay at the guards van was nothing short of amazing! from a warm welcome gift in the van, information pack on hand when we arrived and been greeted by the owners upon arrival we felt perfectly at home. The van was perfectly decorative, spacious and included everything we needed for our short Northumberland break. The communication with Fiona was fab and she kept us up to date with everything. We look forward to returning in the future.

A perfect location for exploring many beautiful parts of Northumbria. The van had everything we needed and more, with lots of thoughtful touches that made it a delightful place to stay.

A hidden gem. We have thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in The Guards Van. It was exactly like photos/description and all furniture/soft furnishings were good quality. The hamper was a lovely touch too. The hot tub was spotlessly clean and nice and warm. We would definitely stay again if we’re back in the area and will recommend to family and friends.

As stated unique, quirky accommodation. Hosts very welcoming, friendly and informative. Welcome snack basket including a bottle of wine a lovely thought however personal preference would have preferred welcome breakfast basket! Bedroom configuration (double) not much room to manoeuvre, photos a little deceptive. All in all had a lovely couple of days stay.

It was a lovely and relaxing stay. Because of the location, we were able to go sightseeing during the day and relax in the hot tub in the evening. The place was cosy and very clean and i would recommend it for a quiet couples getaway

There is nothing but positive superlatives to say about our stay at The Guards Van! We spent 5 idyllic nights here and are already looking forward to returning. The Hosts are wonderful. So welcoming, accommodating, friendly, available and knowledgeable but left us completely to ourselves. The Guards Van itself is perfect with everything you need and impeccably clean, thought out and appointed. The hot tub is a treat which we enjoyed every evening. Really helped with the muscles after exploring & walking in the stunning Northumberland countryside & beaches. The town of Wooler is a 10 minute drive and has a few pubs/bars and the really nice Milan Italian restaurant. Well worth a visit. Then the other direction to Millfield where Cafe Maelmin is the best spot for breakfast & delicious homemade lunches. There is so much to do in the area. It’s a perfect isolated spot with everything you need.

The welcome to guards van, was excellent. The welcome gift was outstanding and a surprise. The accommodation was very clean with good quality bedding and soft furnishings. The outside area and hot tub was really private. We felt the tub was facing the wrong way round as you only had a view of the fence and there was no views of the cheviot hills from the guards van. This did not really spoil our experience overall.

Really beautiful place to stay! Surrounded by beautiful walking routes and stunning scenery. Andrew was really helpful and was happy to chat about the local area and the history of the place. Stargazing in the hot tub was amazing as well! Wooler is down the road if you need food. Would highly recommend.

A fantastic couple of days in this quirky airbnb. We were looking for somewhere a little different and we’re delighted with the Guards Van. The hot tub was great too. The hosts were really helpful with local advice and keen to help when we had a power cut. All in all - a super place to stay. We’ll come back.

The Guards Van is quirky and characterful and is in the most beautiful rural setting. As one can expect the Guards Van is a little tight on space but has been furnished and appointed to make the most of the space whilst not compromising on any amenities. There is a hot tub and garden chairs and external area so that you can really make the most of the local countryside and have additional space. We didn't do any of the local walks but its a great base to explore further afield on foot. We really felt that the hosts cared that we enjoyed our stay - they are close by but never intrusive. A thoughtful hamper awaited us on arrival too.

The Guard’s Van was so lovely - extremely clean and well presented. We wanted for nothing when it came to information about the accommodation itself or the surrounding area. Communication with our hosts was quick, friendly and easy. The hot tub was a really nice amenity to have. The positioning was spot on, with Wooler just down the road with great places to eat out. We had such a relaxing stay and would definitely recommend the Guard’s Van.

Very welcoming hosts, with very clear instructions, who took the time to properly introduce all the amenities and local information. The Guards Van is a gorgeous space that is incredibly well designed and thought out. The lovely extra touches provided by the hosts were much appreciated, making our stay a very special treat. Location was wonderful for seeing wildlife and pretty setting. Definitely recommend!

Amazing place, would definitely recommend!

Such a cute little place to stay in a quiet, rural area, although only 1 mile from village. Sandra who lives nearby met us on arrival and offered lots of info regarding the area and how to use the hot tub. It was my husbands birthday and the van had been thoughtfully decorated to reflect this. Hosts gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants. Visited Ford and Etal, Bamburgh and Chillingham Castle. Hot tub fab to relax in at the end of the day. Great night's sleep in a comfortable bed with gorgeous smelling linen. The little hamper was a surprising treat. Thank you xx Rob & Julie

We had 2 nights here and felt relaxed immediately. Beautiful surroundings and cosy, clean and comfortable accommodation. A welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the van had everything you could need. The hot tub was very luxurious. Slept very well and felt refreshed for a long walk through The Cheviot Hills which are very close by.

Really really lovely weekend away at The Guards van. The hosts texted us beforehand which was nice to let us know the place was ready for us. We had gone away to celebrate my partners birthday and on arrival there was a birthday banner and the hot tub was pre-set at optimum temperature which was amazing. Lovely little welcome hamper provided. The host came and introduced himself after we had checked in which was nice but after that we were left to our own devices and felt like we had total privacy- the secluded hot tub area helped with this as the way it’s set up means it’s totally private. The bed was so comfy!! And all the linens smelled totally fresh, including the dressing gowns which are provided. Everything is thought of including little things such as a travel washing line, board games, and useful info for the area like taxis. Neither of us had felt so relaxed in months: thank you. X

We had an amazing stay in The Guards Van, the van had everything we needed and the hosts had thought of everything. The location is ideal with plenty of coastal walks nearby, with some lovely places for food and drink in Wooler. Fantastic location for sight seeing, castles & stones. Really comfortable luxurious stay. Comfiest bed I’ve slept in for a long time especially with a broken shoulder. Hot tub was a bonus & the old railway setting was a lovely bit of history to be able to experience. Welcome hamper was a yummy treat Thankyou

There are few places where you can get the kind of privacy that makes you feel like you are as comfortable as you would be at home. Everything was absolutely perfect from the moment I enquired. The van is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for your stay. A lovely warm welcome when we arrived. They were very friendly and helpful and told us some of the history of the location as well as explaining the guards van in detail to us. It was perfect for a few nights away to relax and get away. The hot tub was great for the evening. The guards van is in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area of Northumberland, such as Alnwick, Seahouses and also walks in the Cheviots.

Could not fault our guard van experience! The hosts were lovely and gave us clear directions as well as recommendations around the local area. The surroundings were beautiful and a great location if you wanna try a walking route a little less busy than the norm. We could star gaze from the guard van in the jacuzzi which was fantastic! Cannot recommend The Guards Van enough. Had the most peaceful couple of days and already plotting a return trip. The van has everything you could need in a very well thought out space. It is on the doorstep of some beautiful walking, and having the hot tub to return to after a day on the hills tops it all off.

We had a fantastic weekend! As soon as we pulled up to the Guard’s van we were greeted by Andrew. He was very approachable, friendly, funny and we got the vibe if we had any issues it wouldn’t be a problem whatsoever. We were very well equipped for the weekend but the finishing touches of fresh flowers, a nice welcome basket and fresh robes for us! Even though we came off the A697 straight into the property - you couldn’t hear any cars just birds which was peaceful! Perfect time away before we become parents again :) it has a stunning feel to it and we were very jealous as we wanted the land and house after our stay :D This was our 2nd visit here - I hope that says a lot! Hot tub was fantastic!
