Property Details
The Space
The Bothy has been lovingly created using local timbers, recycled materials and our handcrafted furniture. The result is a uniquely beautiful space in which you can relax and be comfortable.
On the ground floor is a very well-equipped open plan kitchen, diner and sitting area where you can cook your meals before relaxing in front of the TV.
You'll find two king-size bedrooms at The Bothy (one on the first floor and one on the lower floor). Both bedrooms have access to their own bathrooms; the downstairs one has a walk in shower whilst upstairs guests have a bathtub with a handheld shower.
Outside the front of the property, you'll find an unenclosed seating area.
The Bothy is an ideal holiday home for any small family or couple who wish to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that the area provides, but who also wish to benefit from the comforts of home in a unique setting.

Getting Around
The nearest train station to Bothel can be found in Aspatria, a short 10-minute drive away from Lowmoor. Aspatria Train Station has direct services operating to locations across Cumbria including Barrow-in-Furness, Carlisle, Maryport, Whitehaven, Wigton and Workington.
Two bus routes operate in Bothel offering access to Carlisle, Cockermouth, Keswick and Wigton.

A lovely quiet place to stay only 20 minute drive from Keswick and about 10 from Cockermouth. Lots of amenities and plenty of space for just the two of us and the little pooch. Lovely warm and cozy vibe, perfect if you’re looking for a quiet getaway.

Stunning on the inside kitted out with everything you need. First thing is trying to find the house. The instructions sent prior to arrival stated to look out for the wooden sign. We expected the sign to be easy visible but it was in fact the opposite. The sign is facing the wrong way to on coming traffic so is not easy to spot while driving. The sign also needs some tlc because you cannot see the writing on it even when approached. The second thing is the bedding. The bedding smelt terrible. It smelt like it hadn’t been washed in a very long time, almost like old man sweat. This was not a pleasant smell and made our stay very uncomfortable. If the bedding was clean the beds would have been perfect because they are very comfy. Finally, this property cannot be listed as having wifi, it is none existent. We have spent the whole weekend without any signal or wifi which is not ideal when nowadays everything is on your phone. This ruined the trip for us because we couldn’t contact the other half of our party who was staying at a different location nor could we browse to plan our days out. If you want a weekend detox from your phone and the outside world then this is the place for you.

This is a great rural place to stay with access to the lakes and stunning scenery right on the doorstep. Accommodation itself was very clean and comfortable. Charlie communicated very promptly at all times. Would certainly recommend and stay there again.

Inside was very good but signage was very poor Needs signage that can be seen clearly otherwise you missed the entrance from the road

Lovely stay at this clean and well furnished cottage. There were 4 of us and there was plenty of room to move about. 2 bathrooms is always good too. Would stay again. You do need transport tho .

Had a lovely couple of nights stay, bothy was extremely homely and comfortable with beautiful features, everything needed was provided including plenty of firewood which was brilliant. Lovely views over the fields and great location to visit lake district. Hosts very imformative and responsive to any messages. Board games, books etc were also provided. Peaceful, relaxed stay would come back again if ever in area.
