This was a bit of a last minute booking so took a bit of a chance for a couple of days. I'm really pleased I did. The place was immaculate - in fact, I think we might have been the first people to stay there as it's located on a new build estate and lots of the facilities still had tags on! The place was incredibly well equipped with everything we needed. It felt like the hosts really cared about guests having a nice time and there was great attention to detail. Beds were comfy - I even looked at the label for their bedding to find some for ourselves! House is located on a quiet estate, next to an allotment. People at the back of the house did get a slightly earlier wakeup call from the cockeral behind but it wasn't too bad. The location is fab. About 15 minutes walk to the harbour, 10 minutes to the Abbey, brew pub and cliff top walks. It is really quiet and feels very safe for families. The kids' room was great, with bunk beds, teddies and a night light. really nice touches.
Exceptional Whitby Stay — Highly Recommend Abbey View House is a superb family base for exploring Whitby. The location is excellent, close to the Abbey, old town and harbour, with beautiful walks straight from the door. Walking down into town — often via the 199 Steps — was a real highlight. The walk back up was a little challenging for me personally (due to knee surgery recently but managed it!) but absolutely worth it for the views and peaceful setting. The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with lovely local artwork, and extremely well equipped. Everything had been thoughtfully provided, making the stay easy and comfortable. Communication was outstanding throughout — clear instructions, quick responses and a very smooth check-in experience. A stylish, welcoming home in a fantastic location. We would happily stay again and highly recommend it to others.
