A public footpath runs approximately one mile through fields to the village of Great Ayton with it’s range of local shops, pubs and locally renowned ice cream shop and pie shop. Or if all of that sounds just too strenuous, take the easy route and just relax in your hot tub and watch the sun glistening on the lake before heading indoors for a cosy night warmed by the wood burner.
Each lodge has lake views and on the site you will find a small children’s playground. There is also a doggy play park and walking area to ensure every member of the family is well looked after in this stunning lodge development.

Stayed in a group of 8 friends We had a lovely weekend and the weather was glorious The setting around the lodge is lovely pretty and peaceful We could not fault the lodge it was clean and well equipped with plenty of room for 8 people. The hot tub was clean and warm and enormous The only negotiation I can think of was the late check-in time 4 o clock and the very small fridge. For 6 people the fridge was way too small and also the shelves at the side were broken presumably from previous guests trying to overload it. Highlight of the trip for me was being greated by the lovely ducks who were a joy to watch All my friends want to go back so hopefully we will return soon

Giving a 5 star because it was a gorgeous place to stay the only Down fall was the hot tub it was falling a part and had a weird smell. We informed them about this and they said they would look into it. The place was lovely though can’t complain on anything else xx

Lovely surroundings, clean accommodation, however a number of issues. 1. No hot water on second day, boiler indicated low pressure, fortunately my partner is a Gas Engineer, so problem quickly resolved. 2. Dishwasher didn’t work, report but handyman was not available for 2 days, however I was provided with a number for the handyman on 3rd day of it not working but didn’t bother ringing as leaving the following day. 4. Oven didn’t work! 5. Washer machine would spin, but not wash. The above wouldn’t have been that much of an issue if only staying for a couple of days, however we were there for 5 days. And after paying £1000 for 5 days, feel that the above shouldn’t have been an issue.

Transporter Lodge: nice clean, well laid out property with a few snags. We raised most of our snags and were told nothing could be done. The contact (Charlie)was polite, responsive and completely unhelpful. 1. The door shelf in the fridge is broken. It can't take any weight at all. We were told that this would be dealt with, but it wasn't. 2. Kitchen wasn't well-equipped. No frying pan, oven sheets, or oven proof dishes. We were told that the equipment list said they were there and that no more would be provided. 3. No parasol on the patio. Only a couple of the lodges had one. It seems that as they break they are not replaced. 4.The office was unusable because it had two folding beds jammed into it. 5. It was almost impossible to have a warm shower or a hot bath. If you turn the tap higher than a trickle it runs cold. NOTE the property is described as having a king/double/2 singles. In fact it has a superking/double/2 singles. Important info if you take mattress toppers with you!
