easy to check in Where to begin! When we arrived, everything seemed great; however, as we unpacked and went to go into the garden, we were met by 100's of ants and flying ants inside the house. As we had a 2-year-old with us this was an even bigger issue than just having 100s of bugs in the house, which is a big problem anyway. I spoke with Host & Stay, who, after not believing me and insisting that they wouldn't do anything until I sent pictures, assured me "maintenance" would be there within 4 hours. Over the 2-day stay, we never heard anything else after a number of follow-up calls and messages. The big issue was that the room of the infestation was where the washing machine was, so we were unable to use it (which is one of the reasons why we rent an entire house rather than a hotel). Generally roor cleanliness:, bed sheets were dirty, the pull out mattress/extra bed under the single bed in the third bedroom was old, dirty and had no sheet on there (again, the reason we chose this property as we have a toddler) so they had to go in the bigger bed and we were just luck she didn't fall out after making a barrier out of cusions and blankets. The counters and sides were dusty and the place had stained carpets. The house was boiling hot (I appreciate it was over 30 degrees outside, but no fans and some of the windows were locked!) meaning getting to sleep was a challenge to say the least. Not enough glassware, there were 2 tall glasses and 3 wine glasses... as this is meant to facilitate 6 people, not good enough at all. Overall appalled at being ignored when we raised the bug issue, and 3 days later, we have still not heard back from them. Maybe this will give them a kick up the backside to actually respond to the follow-up email/calls/messages.

Overall, a good place to stay—comfortable and well-located. However, a few things caught me off guard. The dishes hadn’t been properly cleaned, which was disappointing. The rooms were up a very narrow staircase, something I don’t recall seeing in the listing, and that posed a bit of a challenge. Also, there were signs indicating no parking nearby, which was confusing and a bit alarming since I wasn’t sure where it was safe to leave the car. With a few improvements and clearer info, this could be a great stay.

When we entered the home, I was surprised at the small size, but everything is smaller in England compared to America. Within a few hours, it was like home (4 adults) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the week. The home was very clean and linens were fresh. Only comments I would have (and it would be inexpensive for the owner to complete for his guests) would be: at least 6 wine glasses (0nly 3), at lease 6 water glasses (only 3 that mismatched), new bed pillows and a mowed yard. We just bought cups and paper plates and it worked. Charlie was very responsive to any concerns and/or questions we had. Thank you and we enjoyed our stay.

The stay was overall good, no basics provided like shower gel or enough toilet roll though! Was a smell of paint. No bath towel for the floor was provided. Overall nice house and was what we needed.

The house was nice however it was advertised as having a fully equipped kitchen yet the oven wasn’t working, there were 2 water glasses for 6 adults and not enough cooking equipment. We had 6 adults staying however there was only bedding for 5 people! We messaged the host several times and although they responded, they didn’t ever fix the issue!

Overall, a terrible experience that is still not resolved. 4 of us were travelling from afar (all a minimum of 4 hour journeys). 2 of us arrived early and found the property had not been cleaned form the previous visitors. Beds were unmade (and dirty), towels left on the floor, bins over flowing etc. I contacted the host who attempted to find us somewhere else. At this time, I stopped the other 2 guests from setting off. After some back and forth we had to check in to a local hotel for night one. The property was cleaned the next day. I was refunded the first nights stay but this did not compensate for the inconvenience. Once checked in we also found the only sink in the bathroom was leaking (badly) which rendered it unusable. This took 2 further days to fix. Its impossible to review the property in isolation - which would have been 'OK' without these issues. I have given the host numerous chances to resolve and they are still 'investigating'.

I booked Sherrington Road Abode for colleagues working locally and all went well. The place was clean and comfortable and communication with Host and Stay was excellent. A couple of small issues were sorted out quickly and efficiently so the guests could relax in comfort. We would happily book again.

The property is in a lovely, quiet area. It is spotless, contains everything that we needed and the description was exactly as described. I would definitely recommend this property and would not hesitate in booking it again myself. Very impressed.

Very nicely designed, decorated and clean. It was cold, there were no instructions about the heating, and the customer service team did not help, despite numerous calls. We were missing one set of bedding, and again the team did not help us. There was no dishwasher, no coffee making facilities of any sort, and no serving bowls or casserole dishes, so an inadequately equipped kitchen, not conforming to the description. I have requested a partial refund, but no one has yet responded.

Great location for easy town access. We arrived and were pleasantly met with the property, there were only a few issues we had on arrival. One being there was no bulbs in majority of the lamps across the house. The main dining area hadn’t been finished, missing light fixtures (roof), arial cable coming out the wall, meaning this room was essentially useless as we had no lighting. Tried to bring lamps in from other rooms, to find they had no bulbs. Additionally can’t get into the rear of the property without walking out the front, unlocking the back gate over the top and then repeating to access the garden, making it rather frustrating to use this space. Owner of property arrived on the Friday, got in touch with the management who didn’t indicate any knowledge of a back door key, which we thought was odd. The single bed room has no duvet sheets or pillow covers for the bed that slides out underneath, making it unusable. Needs work before additional renting.
