We had a 3-nights stay at this house as a group of 5 adults and 4 kids. Like the previous reviews say, it's a well-located and well-equipped house, great for a large group, especially as every bedroom has an en suite. Some parts of the house would definitely benefit from a deeper clean and a lick of paint, but overall we had a nice time.

Had a lovely weekend apart from dirty floors and dirty under beds. Fridge far too small for 9 adults and 3 children. Bed downstairs very uncomfortable. Outside space much smaller than anticipated. Inside space good. Good area not too far from places to visit

The Barn was perfect for our group, getting together to meet for our annual get together and as a base for the surrounding area. Peaceful surroundings and a well kitted out kitchen, plus a short drive to Tideswell for pubs, restaurants and a local shop.

Nice large house in a lovely part of the Peak District. We stayed comfortably as a group of 6 adults and 6 kids and found everything we needed at the house. Information about the house could have been better presented and house needs a little bit of upkeep but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The people next door even allowed the kids to see their horse and pony and have a little ride which they really enjoyed. Fabulous time.

Beautiful house which was perfect for our group. We had a lovely few days and the secluded location was nice. Just far enough away from town.

Ideal for a multi-generation family get-together. Comfortable bedrooms, and the underfloor heating meant that the sitting room was cosy at night. Pretty good facilities in the kitchen - the dishwasher was a real boon! Beds were comfortable. Very well situated for a good range of walking trails ( we did part of the Monsal Trail.) And not too far for days out in Buxton, Bakewell or Matlock.

The Barn was lovely and we had a great time as a group of 10 people staying here. The village of Tideswell is a short walk from the Barn and there are other close by towns like Bakewell and Buxton that we visited. The Barn itself was lovely and stocked with almost everything we needed, the rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. The TV in the living room was also very good and the instruction manual was there to help us when we needed. Kitchen was well-stocked and allowed us to cook whole meals for all of us with ease. Would definitely recommend!

Spacious, 4 bathrooms, good parking, big kitchen. Not enough light for reading our books in the lounge. Maybe most people use phones or kindles!

The Old Barn had everything we needed for our stay. We were a group of families staying for a couple of days while we cycled the Monsall trail. The house was clean and warm and had plenty of space. The owners were flexible with check in and check out times. The kitchen was great and well equipped. The only down side was the internet was down for most of our stay, but this was out of the owners control, and to be honest it was good for the kids to be forced away from screens for a bit. We had a great break, thank you!

I booked this cottage for a trip with my friends. It was absolutely easy to check in. the host send me clear instructions before arrival. Really good location with local village round the corner with all the shops. The cottage was very well maintained, the kitchen had all the utensils. Bedrooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We all had great time and happily recommend this cottage. Everything was perfect.

Central location to visit attractions of the Peak District. Roomy and clean, nice that each room has its own en-suite. Very well equipped and excellent value for money.

The Barn was exactly as expected. It was in a peaceful, scenic location and the host was always responsive. We had all the facilities we needed with 10 of us which consisted of 4 children. Locals were very friendly too

The property was perfect for a large group of guests with lots of space in communal areas - downside was having such a small cupboard sized fridge with a house designed for 11 people. Location is beautiful, truly felt like we were off grid amongst the rolling hills of the Peak District. After seeing previous reviews we each bought our own towels but arrived to find them on the beds. I arrived for our 4pm check in to settle in & decorate with the rest of my party due to arrive at 5:30pm for our girls weekend away. Around 5pm I went downstairs to find out that the property had been double booked when a separate group of men arrived for a birthday weekend! Fortunately they were a lovely, friendly group & were understanding of the fact that as we were already set up inside, we were staying put. The situation was rectified by the host in just under an hour when the other group managed to find alternative accommodation. Wasn’t an ideal start to the weekend but we had a lovely time!

Location and facilities were ideal for what we needed The property was clean ie bedding and bathroom etc. However there were cobwebs everywhere around wardrobe’s etc. and it needs a good paint job and the lights are poor

The place was as advertised and the kitchen was particularly nice but for £500 a night I would have expected a welcome pack or at least some milk, and some toiletries (if only shower gel.) Also the mattresses weren't of particularly good quality and the cleaning wasn't very thorough eg cobwebs on the wall behind the TV and dust and hairs on bathroom skirting boards. It would also have been nice to have an information pack. However, we did have a lovely stay and as mentioned the kitchen was lovely and also the sofas were all very comfortable. I think it was just that it wasn't good value for the price we paid.
