Upon entering The Watchtower, you’ll instantly feel at home. Head to the bedrooms and you’ll find tranquil havens. Turquoise walls and pink bed decor brighten up the neutral and calming space in the master bedroom, while the second bedroom has a blue and grey theme. There is also a seating area in the master bedroom. You’ll certainly look forward to your sleep at The Watchtower as these comfy king-size beds are a dream. The third bedroom at The Watchtower has two singles, making it ideal for children and teenagers. The modern family bathroom is complete with a bathtub, wash basin and WC. You’ll also find an ensuite shower room in the master bedroom. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area can be found on the top floor and this is a welcoming space with a comfy sofa, an armchair and a flat screen TV. When it’s cold outside, this is the perfect place to enjoy a cosy night in. The kitchen is bright and modern. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, this space is stylish. There is a dishwasher, fridge, kettle, oven, toaster and microwave for you to use throughout your stay so you’ll have everything you need for your break in Northumberland.
The Watchtower is located in the small village of Waren Mill, just a short distance from Belford. Ideally situated on the Northumberland coast, but also with the wilderness of the Northumberland National Park close by, you really do have lots to discover. Right on the coast, The Watchtower is in an incredible setting. You can enjoy long, quiet walks and energetic hikes through the countryside and along the coast. The area is packed with wildlife and even features a nature reserve close by, so birds like wildfowl and waders can be seen passing through in droves during the winter. Belford has a thriving and friendly market square at its centre, brimming with independent shops, restaurants and inns. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne can be seen from various points around the village and is within easy reach. It’s an ideal base for those wanting to partake in a spot of fishing and golfing. The Watchtower is just a short 5-minute drive from the gorgeous coastal town of Bamburgh. Here you’ll find miles of stunning sandy shores and Bamburgh Castle, which is one of the finest castles in the country. Standing on the Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years, there is a wealth of history to uncover.
The Watchtower is located within short driving time to beautiful areas within Northumberland such as Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. There are excellent travel links as the apartment is only a short distance from the A1. The closest train station is Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is roughly a 25-minute drive from The Watchtower so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail. There are a number of bus stops throughout Belford. Hop on the 418 service to explore Bamburgh, Beadnell, Alnwick and Alnmouth amongst others. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahorses. Newcastle Airport is roughly one hour away by car.

The views from upstairs was the only positive aspect of our stay This property is in serious need of a deep clean, repairs and maintenance and a general re-fresh. Our stay was ruined by all of the issues. The host knew that the shower was not working prior to our arrival, but failed to inform us and then after we complained from the property and asked for the issue to be escalated, we did not receive a response. It is unreasonable to expect 6 guests to share one bath for a 3 night stay when there was only enough hot water for 2 people at a push, especially when the property is still advertising that it has a shower facility available. The toilet flush in the bedroom ensuite did not work as it kept getting stuck, and we had to keep lifting the shelf on top of the cistern. The bath panel was coming off, and the toilet seat in the bathroom was really loose. Also in the bathroom, the lights were faulty, and either flickered on and off or didn't work at all. Some of the furniture was damaged, such as a chair where the upholstery was all ripped. There were large cobwebs on the light in living area, and the property overall did not meet a reasonable standard of cleanliness. Please save your money and do not stay here!!!
Nothing, my stay was completly ruined , by the lack of washing facilities could not have a shower for the whole stay, reported this, they couldn’t fix it, were unhelpful and rude.the plumber came into the property and made a mess which I had to clear up,he could not repair it as it needs replacing.look back at previous complaints. Spent my time away trying to liaise with the company host and stay, ruined my mini break, trying to get the shower to work, which they didn’t, were very very unhelpful, could not get any kind of refund from them for ruining my stay, would not recommend them, and would not take their excuse, as they do not have one, because they do not care about the customer experience.look back at previous complaints, before you think of booking.
