Being able to stay inside Beamish Open Air Museum was fabulous. it was like belonging. We walked around the Georgian landscape in the evening and watched Beamish main street wake up in the morning. The cottage is beautiful, simply and tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with the Georgians. It had a comfy bed and was absolutely spotlessly clean, with a big garden outside. It's In a secret spot but close to everything too and so well thought out. We loved it and hope to come again, we had the very best time.

Lovely themed cottage, pristine. Very quiet private area. Beautiful cottage only down side was no TV access and the lighting is dim and areas. Also, if you if are tall it's very easy to constantly hit your head on the lantern lighting. Easy and quick access the the museum with private parking next to the cottages.

Loved how easy it was to get into beamish! The view from the cottage was stunning! So peaceful , even when the museum was open! Need to advertise tbem mor nothing on tbe website about the cottages!! At night it was unbelievable to think we were in tbe grounds of a living history museum!! Nothing!! Except we couldn’t get the tv working!! If we’d have stayed any longer we’d have emailed tbe host!

Fantastic cottage equipped with all we needed, very clean and comfortable easy check in but check out was stressful as the key safe wouldn't open. The location was beautiful with fantastic views and a lovely seat and bench to sit on, my only issue was we didnt realise how hard it was to access without a car and a wheelchair in tow .....also as we didnt have a car we had to keep our suitcase with us after checking out at 10 am and wanting to spend the day in Beamish. Would certainly recommend a stay here as long as you have your own transport to get to there. The cottage was a fabulous experience. Ps any clues as to why my daughter and I woke up just after one am with the bed shaking was it a ghost ? or an earthquake . thanks for a lovely comfortable stay and organising such lovely weather ?

The location was stunning. Right next to the Drovers Tavern. Trams around the site at the bottom of the road. Comfy beds. Sitting outside with a drink watching the wildlife ??. Clean and tidy. Overall the experience was AMAZING. Love love love. We wished we had booked longer. The TV and internet needs improving. You also need a sign on the entrance to the cottages saying private as a couple of people tried to follow us in. Easier instructions of how to get into and out of the museum.

We had a lovely stay at Drovers cottage. It's situated in the 1820s area of Beamish and is incredibly peaceful, especially in the evenings and early morning. Having access to Beamish was fab. Once the museum is closed, you are politely asked to remain in the Georgian area (1820s), only. This was fine for us, but you only get full access to Beamish during opening hours. The cottage had everything we needed, a well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom (with excellent water pressure) and all very in keeping with the Georgian period. A really lovely stay and we would happily return!

What an absolute delightful experience! Staying in a 19th century cottage right in the heart of Beamish museum was so enjoyable. The interior is so inviting, great furniture and layout complemented by a brilliant kitchen and lovely bathroom. Upstairs, the very large bedroom is such a pleasant surprise, very spacious and the bed is so comfortable you are guaranteed a good night sleep. Perfect location to visit Beamish Museum.

The Drovers Rest was well equipped and set in a wonderful location within Beamish Museum. Being able to explore the museum at your leisure both during open hours and after was a real treat. Whilst there are limited options for eating during open hours, once it closed, you need to leave the grounds to find anywhere to eat. We recommend the Stables at Beamish Hall, a short drive away. Make sure you take food with you, especially Coffee for the cafetiere. Once you enter Beamish Museum the Accommodation is well signposted from the top of the car parks. Mobile phone coverage is patchy but wifi coverage both within the cottage and the museum is good.
