Great Spot

The apartment was very clean and modern. <br/>The people in Seaham are very welcoming and friendly. <br/>It's very close to shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. <br/>The beach is just a short walk away and the Sea Glass collecting was very therapeutic x <br/>The apartment guide that was emailed and available in the apartment via a QR code was the best I've seen... a nice touch.<br/><br/>It wasn't a problem for me, but it would have been if my husband was there... a live music bar (Grace Kelly's) has recently opened next to the apartment, it would possibly be an issue if trying to get children to sleep. It wouldn't be suitable for anyone who wants peace and quiet. <br/> <br/>There was no wifi... I used a lot of data. <br/> <br/>There seems to be a lot of dog fouling on the pavements around the town. <br/> <br/>The letting office was closed when I arrived so I sent an email about there being no wifi (as advertised) and a couple of items that were in need of repair. I received no reply.

Really nicely furnished apartment, the decor is particularly beautiful. Good facilities in general. Excellent location. Great to have the parking out back.<br/><br/>For people staying as a family the apartment is listed as suitable for children of all ages. However there were issues with our 4 year old and safety. The front door only has a basic lock which is at a child's height which means if you have a child who can turn a lock there is a risk there. No latch at a higher point on the door or key lock to add the security against children. There is also a lot of decor in the room such as artwork hung above the single beds only secured by a nail which could be easily touched or moved by a child. The WiFi is an open network with no password that posed risks which means we were not able to use it during our stay.

The flat was clean and modern. Well located for travelling. Coffee and milk supplied on arrival and toiletries - all nice touches. Beds were comfy.<br/><br/>Only minor but the window wouldn't open in the twin room. Fridge freezer had a broken milk section and freezer needed defrosting...this didn't impact our stay at all.

The apartment was perfect for what we needed.<br/><br/>Few bits of damage throughout the apartment.

The rooms were comfy and well kitted out.<br/>Location to the sea excellent for sea glass hunting.<br/><br/>The Hosts (Host and stay)- can not get hold of easily when you need help and do not maintain the properly well. We encountered many issues - front door to apartment block didn’t lock, awful drain smell inside no 8 where we stayed. No keys for window locks so couldn’t open one bedroom window to air plus safety issue in case of fire. Freezer needed defrosting, no shelf in fridge so had to lay milk down etc, washing machine door hanging on one hinge, dishwasher door only opened part way. We couldn’t connect to the internet during our stay.

Great place to spend a few days with family and our pet dog. A loose doorhandle and basic kitchen utensils but as expected from descriptions and nature of a block of serviced appartments. Very close to a great beach and fab restaurants all along the seafront. The pub next door had live bands playing for it's opening weekend so we were initially worried about late noise but they stopped playing quite early and didn't affect us getting to sleep. Handy electric gated parking at the rear of the property was great for us.

The location was good. Unfortunately Seaham does not have a lot to offer if you don't get good weather. Dining out is impossible if you don't like Weatherspoons or the local Indian. The Weatherspoons was not the best. The Indian average. And that is definitely your options.<br/><br/>The kitchen facilities were all very dirty. Microwave spillage all over the plate. The oven had a terrible dirty smell.with grease and grime spattered on all racking. The oven tray was also covered in grime. The oven door was very marked. Also the pots and pans were unclean. As were the cupboards they were stored in. This lead to us <br/>having to eat out fir the duration of our stay. You expect to be able to wash down and clean the utensils you are going to be using but not having to deep clean. We were due to stay 4 nights. 1 bath towel each was provided. This is not acceptable for a 4 night stay. Also 1 bath mat. The apt. sleeps 4 people. Very poor reception for wifi. Also the TV did not work. By day 3 we packed up and traveled home.

Location and layout.<br/><br/>No working TV No working WiFi which was a requirement for us staying there. The property needs some maintenance it was tired. Holes in wall , broken blinds, door handles falling off. We followed all the procedures to get the main failures rectified but nothing got rectified.

Location good for walking the Durham Heritage Coast. Supermarkets very close and restaurants.<br/><br/>Key safe empty. Office advised but they couldn't find key. Luckily a person staying in the property knew the owner so phoned him. Our room with sea view allocated to someone else. Only other apartment at back of property but under someone else's name. After 2 hours we were given that one. Door off washing machine, no shelf in fridge for milk or juice, were the worst problems. Horrible smells from yard at back.

Big space and all the stuff you need while your away from home. Also location is perfect and plenty of pubs and restaurants close by.<br/><br/>No bath.

The location was great, and the beds were super comfy, wifi easy to connect too and had everything we needed.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, I'm not sure if other people live there, outside of the rental, but the smell of cannabis when you first enter the building is overpowering. This has nothing to do with the hosts, also the cleaning was not up to par there is a layer of dust on most pictures, tv, limescale around kitchen tap, and what looked like broken glass under the dining table as my daughter found with her foot, finger prints and smudges on cupboard doors in kitchen area.<br/>I'm slightly disappointed for the price paid.

The location was excellent overlooking the sea and with cafés and restaurants in walking distance. <br/>The beds were comfortable.<br/><br/>The oven had no shelves, so cooking was difficult and grilling impossible. A review from last year mentioned this, we contacted the management, but there was no response.<br/> The remote for the TV was missing so the TV was unusable. We also reported this to no avail. <br/>The shower tray was lethally slippery, with no grab rail or shower mat. <br/>The small bedroom door was badly hung and could not be closed.<br/> The handle on the bathroom door was loose and we had to tighten the screws to close the door. <br/>The main front door was supposed to open with a code, but was open to anybody. This was also mentioned in reviews from last year.<br/>Our original booking was for a different apartment in this building, but the management changed it fairly soon before trip, no request, just stated as a fact.<br/>This is the third time a booking through Booking.com has been changed late on.<br/>We paid the £25 "insurance" but they also took £250 from our credit card, and we had to chase to get it reimbursed.<br/>We also had to give passport and other personal details to Superhog, which felt intrusive.<br/>We would be wary of another booking with Host and Stay.<br/>.

While the location is excellent and the beds were comfortable, there were lots of problems. No shelves in the oven(mentioned in a review from last year but obviously not acted on). The main door code was not active, so anyone could access the lobby. The TV remote was missing so the TV was unusable. The general finish was pretty poor, with doors not closing, handles not screwed in properly, door edges not smoothed down. The shower tray was lethally slippery, no grab handle and no shower mat. Rhe hot water in the bathroom washbasin was a bit hitxand miss. The kitchen tap wobbled all over the place. We contacted the hosts, who promised action, but nothing happened. The hosts also changed our apartment booking to a different apartment fairly late on.

Comfortable and clean and central with restaurants near by and of course the beach.<br/><br/>The kitchen some equipment needs updating but functional.

Whatever we liked about the apartment was overwhelmed by the negatives.<br/><br/>It is difficult to understate the uselessness of the management company. The apartment, though nice and modern, was a death trap.. Clothes racks hanging off the wall, heaters directly under televisions which would have melted them, doors and locks which didn't work and showed signs of having been broken into. And let's not talk about all night parties in the flat next door (despite the house rules asking for consideration of the neighbors). Just terrible. And what did the management company do? NOTHING. Sure they responded but it's more likely their responses were written by AI robots. Though the property was pleasant, I would never stay at anything managed by Host & Stay (Away). And we won't talk about the management company trying to collect two management deposits or telling us to leave after one night of an eight night stay. A shame really, since the place itself isn't all that bad -- if somebody actually cared.

Location is great for the beach. Nothing special. Extremely loud parties in apartment 4. Smelled like sewage. Living room heater was locked so we were cold. Left early. Didn't even have salt in the kitchen. Also, for having such a strict damage policy, they sure aren't taking care of repairs. Lots of wall damage

Good location<br/><br/>Issues with the following: <br/>Cleanliness of crockery and cutlery. <br/>Smart TV only allowed streaming - something we are not familiar with, no access to terrestrial TV. <br/>Used front door security on arrival, then it was apparent that security not working so front door was accessible to anyone at any time of day. <br/>Most of all the shower was a safety hazard. The floor was extremely slippery and there was no grab rail nor a safety mat I bought my own safety mat on day 2. <br/>All of these issues were raised with the company by phone, only response was to confirm that the TV was a Smart TV.

Great location in Seaham in relation to the beaches <br/>Some nice cafes and shops along the same street the flat was on <br/>And not bad views from the apartment<br/><br/>1. Wifi didn't work on arrival and we had to ring up to get an alternative network <br/>2. There is no freeview on the TV and no Ariel , you can only use the apps to watch programs which were painfully slow and unreliable. <br/>3. There was a socket hanging out behind the Tv with live connections exposed <br/>4. The shower was useless , no pressure and tepid <br/>5. General fit and finish of the flat was very poor , cupboards all at different heights and angles and wonky <br/>6. One of the towels had a massive hole in it <br/>7. There are no curtains only blinds so you are up with the sun and not good for getting kids to bed ! <br/> <br/>But by far the worse thing is the noise from the pub / club next door on the Friday and Saturday nights , it was like a rave was happening in the flat until 1am in the morning , really distressing when you have young tied kids ! <br/> <br/>Overall very disappointing for the money .

Perfect location for our needs, very clean, we didn’t use the kitchen for cooking but it had all you could need ( apart from oven shelves) they leave some washing tablets for the washing machine and dishwasher (although there is no dishwasher) it didn’t smell like others had reported so hopefully that issue is sorted.<br/>Would definitely stay here again.

Stunning location, literally right across from the beach. Beautiful view from windows. Apartment was very clean and tidy upon arrival and it thoughtfully provided tea and coffee. Apartment was spacious and very close to cafes, the seas, marina, and about 15 minutes walk from the train station. Very close to supermarkets. Kitchen was reasonably well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils.<br/><br/>Communication once we arrived was not great. There was an issue with the hot water, in which there was absolutely no hot water at all for over 30 hours; I called to ask to help, was directed to leave a message, and was never contacted by anyone at all to sort the problem. Additionally, the "free WiFi" didn't work at all, and my mother had been counting on getting some work done while at the property. No soap was provided at all to wash one's hands in the bathroom---we had to go out and purchase our own hand soap---, and likewise no dish soap, hand soap or sponges were provided in the kitchen.

The apartment was very central. <br/>It was clean and well appointed. <br/>The beds were comfortable. <br/>Lots of hot water.<br/><br/>Friday night was noisy. One of the bars had some sort of a disco going on!

Location is excellent. Rooms bright and airy. Flat comfortable Perfect for a short break. Plenty of instant hot water. What a bonus.<br/><br/>Obvious that the hosts have never lived/stayed at the property. Drains in the bathroom stank quite vile. Dishwasher so badly installed that the door doesn’t open down properly so the bottom rack has to be filled and emptied at a difficult angle. Whole kitchen has been badly installed which is a shame as the brochure boasts about some fab design team who designed the interior furnishings. Sofa doesn’t fit flush to the wall as the radiator fitted off centre but never mind! Crockery could have been cleaner so we just cleaned everything we planned to use before we used it and kept it separated. Cooker hob was a complete nuisance with its stupid child lock which took us an hour to turn off due to instruction sheet covered in mould. Would have helped to have a quick 123 guide stuck to a tile. WiFi rubbish. Couldn’t even get it to connect but thankfully the guy that we rang for assistance gave us access to a different system

Explanation on where to park car and get access to the keys. Such as you access to the property first and this will give you access to the fob to access the parking this could of been explained in more detail

The property is directly opposite the beach and a car park which is free. Great location, modern and very clean!

Beautiful and spacious apartment. Good car parking. Excellent communication from the owner. Good value. Very pleased overall.<br/><br/>A couple of minor niggles but they were tiny in relation to the overall quality of the apartment.

Very comfortable accommodations in a great location. The space could really use a guest manual with instructions on how to turn the shower on, get the tv to work (we didn’t get assistance with this one even after asking multiple times) and how to work the washer (we’re pretty sure the dryer doesn’t work) and would benefit from a few extra things like a clothes drying rack, broom, and extra cleaning supplies (hand soap in the kitchen, extra toilet paper, more than one garbage bag, etc.). However, these things aside, it was quiet and clean and a great place to stay for a few days on the beach.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The apartment smelt like sewage. We had to buy room spray and even that didn’t help. The oven didn’t have shelves that fitted the oven so we couldn’t cook properly. The internet didn’t work so we had no TV. <br/>The smell was so bad that I was woken up by it and we had to leave. Our clothes smelt of sewage, it was that horrendous. Host and Stay have been so unhelpful and are refusing any refund even though the apartment was not liveable. I would not recommend this property or any property they manage!!

The property was ideally located and looked like it had been recently refurbished to a high standard. It was very clean and comfortable. The private parking was an advantage.<br/><br/>For us a ground floor apartment would have been ideal - as one of the party has mobility issues. However, we knew it was first floor when booking and the other positive aspects outweighed this.

Lovely apartment, nicely furnished and a well equipped kitchen. Nice to have plenty of glasses, plates etc. Comfy bed. Nice restaurants, coffee bars and fish and chips nearby. Lovely sea front with promenade. Had to contact the team to say there was no hot water in the kitchen or bathroom taps. Wasn’t a problem for us as we just used the kettle and the electric shower. The real irritation is the stuff about the damage deposit or waiver payment. We had to pay either £250 deposit with a £10 admin charge or a £25 waiver fee. This had to be done through the company website which didn’t work on my iPad and took several texts to sort out (the team do reply very quickly). I’ve never been asked to do this for an airbnb before and frankly, it was a nuisance and felt like a bit of an insult. I’d rather they just added £10 to the upfront cost and got themselves better insurance. It puts me off using this company again which is a pity as the flat was lovely.

We had problems trying to pay for the waiver and insurance that was required. The problem was with there app. We spent 3 days trying to resolve the problem. We only found just before check in that we would be able to get in to the apartment. There was hot wafer the shower but none in any other tap. Toilets smelt. The fob stop working for the shutter on the car Park. We rang to say we could not get our car out because the shutter was shut. The response was that we should knock on one of the other apartments to see if they could help.

Fabulous location for the beach and parade of shops - everything within only a few moments walk <br/>Clean and fresh decor <br/>Shower was excellent <br/>Perfect space to hang out when weather wasn't so nice!<br/><br/>Street light right outside the front bedroom window - with the slatted blind not all light was cut out. I got used to it but it made my first night difficult as stopped me getting a good nights sleep. Think a blackout blind would be good for those not used to street lights!

location is literally perfect, decor and layout was lovely, amazing bathroom and bedroom. communication from staff was great, very helpful with questions, parking was ideal, all round a great little apartment!<br/><br/>Upon arrival the kitchen wasn’t completely clean, the mugs and saucepans in the cupboard were a bit dirty, cutlery was stained and sink had crumbs, but that isn’t the fault of the staff, the previous people clearly didn’t clean up after themselves well. Also the kitchen could do with a few more utensils, there’s no spatulas or tongs, which made a few meals a bit tricky, but that was really the only issues we had!

Well placed close to shops, window overlooking sea front & also close to main bus stop.<br/><br/>Difficult coinciding the code to getting the door open in time; it needed the two of us. One to put the code in & the other to push the front door. There was a smoke alarm battery needed replacing in the main hall to the apartments; it bleeped all the way through our stay. It was muffled by our apartment door & walls, but still could still hear it. Comfort: the sofa was at right angles, which meant you needed to watch the TV screen permanently from the side-it became quite uncomfortable after a while. We could see this was planned by a furniture designer. We turned on the light in the corner, rather than the main light. It shone in our eyes whilst we were sitting with cricked necks on the sofa so we switched that off again. Quite funny actually.

The apartment was immaculate, well-designed and well stocked. Loved the freshness and thought that went into the decor. A great base for exploring Seaham, Durham and Newcastle. Very easy to catch the train too. Recommend looking for sea glass at North Beach and Ashoka (Indian restaurant) served us a delicious meal. Please buy a grater for the kitchen. One negative is that it was quite noisy at night from the pub / cocktail bar right next door. The other negative is I didn't feel the cost was clear, it wasn't obvious upfront that as well as the rent and cleaning fee there was also a non-refundable breakage deposit.

Location excellent. Comfortable apartment with everything we needed.<br/><br/>The apartment was cold when we arrived with no heating on - some of the heaters didn't seem to work. It was fine when we got a few fired up though.

We had a lovely couple of days here. The flat was clean, well appointed, warm, comfortable and central to the town and beaches. Our only criticism would be that the WiFi was slow, which made streaming TV a little frustrating, but this was very minor and didn't detract from a couple of beautiful sunny days hunting glass. Definitely recommended and would stay again ?

Excellent location and apartment looked lovely. Disappointed by awful smell from bathroom. TV wasnt linked to wi fi. Owner came next day to fix TV and arranged for plumber to fix bathroom. Furnishings were very good but no welcome/information pack. No mirror or bulb in lamp in twin room and no coat hangers in either bedroom. Very loud music on Saturday night from next door bar. It didn't bother us, but would keep children awake. Stopped at midnight.

The location. Very modern design.<br/><br/>Noise from traffic during early morning. Shower design made getting in and out a bit awkward as very close to toilet!

The best thing about the apartment is the location. Bars & restaurants just a 5 min walk. The beach & Marina nearby too. The apartment itself is extremely spacious and clean. We didn't eat in much but the kitchen was kitted out with everything you may need. Bathroom huge. I would definitely recommend.<br/><br/>The entrance door was a bit fiddly but we got used to it. We would have preffered a better view out of window but as we were out most of the time wasn't too much of a issue.
