Neighborhood
Norwich is rapidly becoming one of the most popular cities to visit in the UK, and it’s easy to see why. With its rich Medieval history, abundance of green spaces, and endless variety of pubs, restaurants, shops, and attractions, Norwich is the perfect destination for a memorable city break.

Known for its diverse shopping scene as much as for its impressive number of pubs (often claimed to have one for every day of the year), Norwich offers plenty of opportunities to find both a bargain and a beer. Be sure to visit Norwich’s famous 11th-century market, where you’ll find a wide range of stalls selling everything from local produce to international street food. Afterward, take a stroll through the Norwich Lanes, a network of charming streets filled with independent cafés, boutiques, and quirky shops, perfect for a relaxed afternoon.

When it’s time to unwind, head to one of Norwich’s unique riverside pubs, such as the Red Lion, where you can enjoy delicious pub fare with a view. For the adventurous, Norfolk Paddleboarders—located just outside the pub—offers paddleboard hire and lessons. Whether you’re a seasoned paddleboarder or a beginner, it’s a fun way to experience the river. Advanced booking is recommended, especially in the summer months.

Norwich is also brimming with family-friendly entertainment. Whether you’re in the mood for the latest blockbuster at the cinema, a round of bowling, or bouncing around at the trampoline park, there’s something for everyone. The Castle Quarter (formerly Castle Mall) has transformed into a hub of activity, featuring retro arcades, virtual reality experiences, crazy golf, and a variety of street food stalls.

For those interested in history and culture, Norwich Cathedral is a must-visit. Standing tall for over 900 years, the cathedral’s spire is an iconic feature of the city skyline. You can take a guided tour to learn more about the cathedral’s fascinating past or explore the site at your own pace. Entry is free, and the cathedral offers a serene escape in the heart of the city.

If you're looking for a peaceful start to your day, consider a morning walk along Pulls Ferry Riverside Walk, just a short distance from Ketts House. Starting at the Compleat Angler pub or the Red Lion Bridge, this scenic walk along the river offers a tranquil respite from the city's hustle and bustle. Along the way, you’ll encounter serene sights such as swans, ducks, paddleboarders, and boats, with highlights including the historic Cow Tower. It's the perfect way to experience the quieter side of Norwich while still being close to the city center.

With its mix of history, culture, and entertainment, Norwich truly has something for everyone.
