Lovely charming, characterful cottage, 10 minute walk into the centre of Matlock (down a steep hill!). Gorgeous views from the kitchen and bedroom windows. Excellent communication from the host and they were available to contact if we needed them (no queries or issues arose during our stay). Would recommend!

Overall a good stay, but a few things could be improved. The place could have been a bit cleaner, and it was quite cold at first—it took some time to heat up. The kitchen lacked some basic equipment, and the TV was quite old with no connectivity options. Still, a decent spot for a short stay.

There are a couple of points i would like to make about the accommodation... 1/ we would have liked to have been warned about the severity of the stairs, as a couple in our very late 60's we found them very precarious, we both had to shuffle down on our backsides as they were to steep to take the chance of falling down, and because the rail was so shiny it was next to useless. 2/ The TV was not tuned to receive channels only netflix and YouTube, we wasted an hour trying to download BBC, & and ITV but to no avai, had we known this we would have brought our i pads. 3/ It would have been nice to have been warned about the very steep hill into town and the lack of parking as we had to drive in because there was no way we could have walked back up the hill. 4/ The shower could do with a slip mat, my wife slipped on her first entry which didn't result in much more than a bruised elbow. 5/ We found the lounge seat very uncomfortable and had to use the pillows off the bed to prop us up, a longer stay would have been unbearable. Even though we are an ageing couple we are still quite sprightly, i golf 3 times a week, my wife does pilates twice a week and we walk the dog twice a day yet we found the accommodation somewhat trying. However our two days spent in Matlock Bath was very pleasant indeed. Alan Harwood aged 67.

A great little place, exactly as advertised. Super cozy, and well styled. The Beds were very comfortable and we had a restful nights sleep. We managed to cook in the kitchen and it has everything you need for a good meal. The place is quite close to the supermarkets so it was not a hassle. The Bathroom is majestic, spacious, with loads of light. Would highly recommend staying here, its also close to Chatsworth house which i highly recommend visiting.

Charnwood Cottage is really lovely, and close to some great pubs. The cottage itself was just what we needed. The hosts were extremely prompt in answering the questions we had during our stay. The property would benefit from having a hairdryer and a dustpan and brush that visitors could use.

Amazing place! Such a good location. We walked into Matlock bath with ease. That bathroom is honestly stunning. Hosts were easy to chat to if I needed anything The only downfall was the dust and we went to use the uno but it was mouldy:(

Lovely period cottage in a convenient location to Peak District attractions. Beautiful waterfall not far from the cottage. Unfortunately the outside of the property was not maintained and had smelly overflowing bins when we arrived meaning we could not enjoy the outside space. Inside was very nice, clean and tidy however, minimal kitchen utensils and the TV was very temperamental with not areal connection.

Fabulous house with gorgeous views. The log burner was a huge plus on a wet and cold afternoon/evening. Lots of easy instructions to follow. Would definitely recommend.

Great location to local town with lots to do and eat and drink, good central location to get to all the typical walking spots throughout the peaks, I’d recommend putting the heating on before you leave so it’s nice and warm for when you get back as takes a while to warm up. Easy parking.

Location Drive Comfortable house Warm house Quiet Although we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again we felt that the accommodation could have been better equipped Kitchen needed to be better equipped Hoover/broom/ needed as we had a dog with us These are not luxuries but essentials for a weeks stay

Lovely cottage, nice and cosy. Could just do with a bean bag or extra chair in the living room and a sweeping brush/ dust pan and brush etc for cleaning the log burner out and floors. Location is perfect for doing some circular walk trails

Not Applicable Kitchen could have been better equipped and there was no window blind. Stairs were very steep with no handrails. The property was advertised with 2 bathrooms and there was only 1 which was downstairs.

Lovely little cottage with parking for 2 cars. Walkable into Matlock. Kitchen missing a few essentials (colander, enough wineglasses, dustpan) Was absolutely freezing when we arrived and took a while to warm up but once warm was nice. Log burner in the lounge was welcome with plenty of supplies provided. TV was not working properly and we could only watch Netflix. If the above things are sorted it will be perfect

Really pleased with our choice ? newly renovated by the looks of it and very nice. Clean and modern with a touch of the old cottage still showing. Close enough to walk into Matlock for food, but it's a steep walk back, so you need to be fit ? Log burner with plenty of wood, loads of hot water, and good heating. Comfortable beds and nice bedding. It was so quiet and peaceful, handy parking right outside. Would go again ? Nothing.... The only recommendation I would suggest is that the bathroom is beautiful and the shower is fantastic, but it's a bit chilly . A blind in the kitchen would be good ? And could do with a lamp in the lounge. Otherwise it was fab....really nice place

Nice cottage, very new. Lovely bathroom. Beds quite small and steep staircase with no handrail. Good location to explore. Lots to do nearby.

The cottage was very well presented and clean. The bathroom in particular was beautiful! The location was good and easy to walk into Matlock. It was lacking a bit in the kitchen - no proper cereal bowls, dustpan and brush, washing up bowl and drying rack - with the addition of these items it would be perfect. Overall, a good stay and would definitely stay again
